I’ve partnered with Mamabear Play Club to bring you a comprehensive Labour, Delivery and Postpartum class in the Edmonton area (locations in Sprice Grove, St. Albert, and Red Deer).

With over 40 years of experience combined, the instructors bring a wide range of knowledge and expertise!

Sheena: Labour and Delivery nurse and IBCLC.

Andrea: Postpartum nurse with NICU experience and certified infant sleep consultant, owner of Sleeping Beautiezzz, and co-owner of Mamabear Play Club.

This one-day Prenatal class will leave you feeling prepared and informed on the labour, delivery and postpartum processes within a hospital setting.

We provide  information on labour processes, natural pain management, and newborn care if you are planning for a non-hospital birth as well!

• Third trimester changes- what to expect and when to seek help

• When to go to the hospital and what to bring

• Anatomy of Labour- what to expect at every stage

• Partner/Support Person: how to provide great labour support before, during, and after birth

• Medication-free Labour and Birth- how to physically and mentally prepare and manage

• Pharmacological pain management: medications and epidural

• Induction of labour- the why and the how

• Informed Consent- questions to ask to ensure you are fully consenting to any recommended interventions

• Pushing: positioning, technique, breathing

• Delivery Interventions: Prepare for the birth you don’t want as much as you prepare for the birth you DO want! We talk about reasons and expectations for C-sections, forcep and vacuum delivery.

• What happens Immediately after delivery: assessments for you and baby before you go home

• Car seat Safety

• Newborn Care: diaper changes, bathing, umbilical cord care, feeding

• Newborn Sleep: expectations, what is normal?
