With backgrounds in pregnancy, labour, delivery and postpartum care, the instructors bring a wide range of knowledge and expertise!

This one-day Prenatal class will leave you feeling prepared and informed on the labour, delivery and postpartum processes within a hospital setting.

We provide  information on labour processes, natural pain management, and newborn care if you are planning for a non-hospital birth as well!

• When to go to the hospital and what to bring

• Anatomy of Labour- what to expect at every stage

• Partner/Support Person: how to provide great labour support before, during, and after birth

• Medication-free Labour and Birth- how to physically and mentally prepare and manage

• Pharmacological pain management: medications and epidural

• Induction of labour- the why and the how

• Informed Consent- questions to ask to ensure you are fully consenting to any recommended interventions

• Pushing: positioning, technique, breathing

• Delivery Interventions: reasons and expectations for C-sections, forcep and vacuum delivery

• What happens Immediately after delivery: assessments for you and baby before you go home

• Newborn Care: diaper changes, bathing, umbilical cord care, feeding

• Newborn Sleep: expectations, what is normal?

• Infant feeding mini-session with Sheena, IBCLC: Intro to breastfeeding and bottle feeding
